Support & care

How can we help?

If things feel too heavy right now, skip to the bottom of this page.

Is my writing really private?

Yes. There is no account and no letter server — everything stays in your browser on your device. See the privacy notice for the full picture.

I forgot my passphrase. Can you reset it?

No — and that is by design. The passphrase is never stored or sent anywhere, so nobody (including us) can unlock or recover an encrypted archive without it. If you kept an encrypted backup, you can import it with that backup’s passphrase.

How do I move my letters to a new device?

In Settings, export a copy (plain or encrypted), move the file yourself, and import it on the new device. Nothing passes through any server.

A letter faded too much — can I get it back?

Open it and choose “trace it again”: the ink returns. Fading is time-based and always reversible while a letter is in your archive. Erasing the archive, however, is permanent.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once you’ve visited, the app shell is stored for offline use. Your letters never needed a connection in the first place.
